Saga is a seal pup in a black, red and gold scarf and an AI speaking partner inside the Belong Germany app. You start a call, you speak German and she answers in her own voice. After every call she tells you what went well, what to fix and which words to keep, in English, Turkish or Arabic.
Saga is in the Android app now. The iPhone app gets her soon.

Every call is an everyday conversation: the bakery, the doctor, the neighbours, an appointment at the Bürgeramt, looking for a flat, plans for the weekend. Belong Germany Speak has no exam rehearsal and no presentation mode, on purpose.
German citizenship asks for German at B1, usually proven with a language certificate. Saga does not give one and does not rehearse any exam. What she gives you is time speaking German, at your own level, whenever you like.
When the call ends, Saga writes you a short debrief: what went well, each thing to fix with the better sentence, the new words worth keeping and one idea for next time. It is in the language your app is set to: English, Turkish or Arabic. The corrected sentences and the new words stay in German.
She also keeps a short note of what you talked about, how comfortable you seemed and the one or two mistakes that keep coming back, so your next call picks up where you left off.
During a call your voice goes from your phone straight to Google's Gemini, which listens and speaks Saga's replies. It does not pass through any server of ours, and we never receive or store any audio.
After the call, Anthropic's Claude writes your debrief and Saga's note. Our server does not keep the transcript. The note is at most 500 characters and is kept on our server in the EU. Forget what Saga remembers, on the You tab, deletes it, and everything is deleted once a year has passed without a call.
